Prepare for Sobriety in the Real World with Outpatient Rehab

While attending an inpatient rehab program is often touted as the only way to recover from a substance use disorder, these programs can’t guarantee lasting healing.  In fact, between 40 and 60% of rehab patients start using again after they leave the facility.  That means inpatient programs don’t provide long-term recovery for around half of their patients.  The Carter Treatment Center takes a different approach.  Our outpatient addiction treatment programs allow greater flexibility for those seeking sobriety.

Treatment Strategies That Fit Into Your Life

Inpatient treatment removes patients from harmful circumstances or social groups that encourage them to continue with unhealthy substance use habits.  However, once the highly structured schedule of rehab gives way to the unregulated and often chaotic shape of day-to-day life, the good habits that seemed so easy to maintain in treatment may begin to crumble.

In our outpatient treatment programs, the line between rehab and your regular life is much narrower.  As a patient, you’ll have access to our full range of treatment options, but you’ll also return home each night—allowing you to spend time with your friends and family and keep up with your work duties or classes.  All of our programs are designed to help you make lasting changes to your relationship with substances.  An outpatient treatment plan helps you identify roadblocks in your current environment and develop coping mechanisms and plans of action for the stressful situations that trigger drug use.

Affordable & Accessible

Our outpatient programs are easier to fit into your life on many levels.  Attending inpatient rehab simply isn’t possible for some people—either due to the high prices of a month-long residential program, the requirement that patients leave their entire life and all their responsibilities behind for the duration, or both.  By contrast, outpatient rehabs are much more affordable because you only pay for treatment, not housing and round-the-clock monitoring.

Outpatient treatment works with your schedule, not the other way around.  We offer a variety of programming options for maximum flexibility.  Not only can you choose the types of therapies and holistic treatment methods that best fit your needs, but you can also work with our staff to make sure your schedule leaves enough time to deal with your other obligations.

Leverage Your Support Network

Many rehabs treat your social circle as a group of enablers that will ultimately pull you back toward unhealthy patterns of substance use.  Though you may have friends or family members who use irresponsibly, you likely also have loved ones who are truly happy to see you taking the first steps toward recovery.  Attending outpatient treatment can help you keep these positive influences in your life.  You can even include them in the healing process by sharing the changes you’re making and enlisting them to help you fight negative patterns or reactions.  The more support you have, the more likely you are to build a sustainable recovery.

Should I Try an Outpatient Program?

Outpatient treatment won’t work for everyone, but if it’s a good fit for you, it provides many benefits inpatient programs can’t offer.  Here are some questions that can help you determine the best type of rehab for your situation.

Do I Need Detox Assistance?

Depending on what substance(s) you’re using and how long you’ve been addicted, trying to weather withdrawal without medical support can be dangerous.  When quitting drugs such as opioids, you should find a program that offers 24/7 supervision or even medication-assisted treatment for a safe detox experience.

Is My Addiction Recent?

The less severe your dependency, the easier it will be to get the help you need via outpatient treatment.  Long-term addictions may require a more thorough reset of your life and habits.

Do I Need Distance from My Routine?

If your daily routine and social contacts would set back your recovery, it might be wise to start treatment at an inpatient facility.  If you think you can distance yourself from the factors that contribute to your substance use without cutting off all contact with the outside world, outpatient treatment could provide the right amount of care and guidance.

What Can I Afford?

If not covered by your insurer, inpatient rehabs can be prohibitively expensive.  Our many insurance partnerships and financing options can help you find an option that works with your budget.

Am I Ready to Make a Change?

Addiction treatment is only successful for patients who are dedicated to their recovery.  If you’re committed to changing your relationship with drugs or alcohol, now is the time to take the next steps.  Our holistic outpatient recovery offers a range of programs to meet your needs and schedule.  The Carter Treatment Center has helped many patients get their lives back on track.  We want to do the same for you.
